DuPont™ Tyvek® medical and pharmaceutical packaging provides the tear resistance, durability, breathability and superior microbial barrier to keep medical equipment and pharmaceuticals sterile throughout their lifecycle—protecting the health and well-being of millions.
Unlike medical-grade papers and films, Tyvek® is compatible with all of the most commonly used sterilization methods, including: ethylene oxide (EO), gamma, electron beam, steam under controlled conditions and low-temperature oxidative sterilization. The material science of Tyvek® enables sterilant gases and steam to penetrate and escape quickly.
Tyvek® has been a trusted choice for medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers and specialized sterile packaging suppliers worldwide for decades. Because Tyvek® is produced according to ISO 14001, it can also be recycled, according to local regulations.

Lidstock for thermoformed trays

Protective clean peel pouches
Tyvek® is used to make pouches in a wide range of sizes and shapes in both selfsealing and heat-sealing styles to meet the needs of medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare providers.
Roll stock for form-fill-seal
Tyvek® roll stock for packaging is well suited for use on automated form-fill-seal equipment to package low-profile, lightweight and high-volume medical devices. It offers ease of use and provides superior protection.
Tyvek® for header bags
When your medical device requires a film-film package or foil pouch, header bags made with Tyvek® provide a solution for enabling ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization.
Tyvek® for steam sterilizable bags
Tyvek® can be heat-sealed to a steam sterilizable film—without the use of coatings—to make high-quality steam sterilizable bags that offer durability and clean peel features not possible with medical-grade paper.
Syringe packaging
Cover lids and inserts made of Tyvek®, when used with nested tubs, help maintain the sterility of prefillable syringes ready for aseptic filling and help reduce the risk of particulate matter contamination.

Tyvek® 1073B provides the highest level of protection, making it the ideal choice for medical device and pharmaceutical packaging that requires high strength and superior microbial barrier.
Tyvek® 1059B
Tyvek® 1059B provides robust protection for medium-risk, sterile medical packaging applications. Lighter weight than Tyvek® 1073B, this proven performer is ideal for smaller devices and those with rounded edges.
Tyvek® 2FS™
Tyvek® 2FS™, a high puncture-resistant substrate, outperforms paper in terms of toughness and microbial barrier. The lightest form of Tyvek®, it is well suited for form-fill-seal, as well as cost-sensitive applications requiring strength.
Tyvek® 40L
Tyvek® 40L offers a lighter weight Tyvek® that’s cost effective for protecting lightweight, lower-risk devices- All in a clean peel, low particulate-generating material—that’s compatible with most major sterilization methods.
