DuPont Designated a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality

DuPont didn't receive a mere passing grade on the HRC's Corporate Equality Index (CEI). No, we achieved a perfect score of 100—for the sixth consecutive year against an increasingly challenging bar! And with this perfect score comes the HRC's designation of DuPont as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.

The HRC's mission is to "end discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all." The CEI rates workplaces by examining policies, benefits, and practices that affect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) employees to determine how—and the extent to which—these workplaces promote full equality for these employees.

The CEI addresses topics such as equal opportunity at all levels and in all functions; equal benefits for same-sex and different-sex couples; the presence of an LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group; and the frequency of external engagement with the LGBTQ+ community.

"Equality and inclusion allow people to bring their whole selves to work. From a business perspective, it's the best thing to do, and from a people perspective, it's the right thing to do."

"I'm incredibly proud to work for a company that really walks the talk when it comes to equality," says SVP and Chief Information Officer Steve Larrabee, also the executive sponsor of the LBGTQ+ Employee Resource Group at DuPont.

He adds, "Equality and inclusion allow people to bring their whole selves to work. From a business perspective, it's the best thing to do, and from a people perspective, it's the right thing to do. We can all feel proud that DuPont's commitment to equality has been recognized by the HRC and that DuPont has been designated as a Best Place to Work!"
