DuPont Scientists Named 2019 Heroes of Chemistry

DuPont Advanced Printing today announced that five of its scientists were recognized with the prestigious American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Heroes of Chemistry Award for their discovery and development of DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY. The DuPont scientists are Adrian Lungu, Robert Blomquist, Mark Hackler, Violeta Lungu and Raj Subramanian.
Heroes of Chemistry is an annual award sponsored by the American Chemical Society that recognizes the role industrial chemical scientists and companies play in improving human welfare through commercial innovations and products.

Cyrel® EASY is an advanced flexographic printing plate technology platform. The photopolymer chemistry that constitutes the basis of the technology simplifies the plate making workflow and delivers outstanding print results. Cyrel® EASY is part of an on-going effort to drive advancement in the flexographic printing industry by improving print quality, consistency, sustainability and productivity.
Cyrel® EASY plate technology has been one of DuPont’s key innovations to advance flexography. By building flat top dot capability directly into the plates, DuPont made it possible to simplify the printing process without sacrificing quality. This breakthrough is critical because it enables the printing on a wide variety of substrates and surfaces, with high ink transfer, better highlights and improved color saturation.
