Achieving success while lowering operating costs

Powered by FilmTec™ technology, the FilmTec™ Fortilife™ product family is designed for plants and facilities that need an industry-leading nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment that’s reliable, easy to clean, and that would benefit from a durable, robust membrane.

FilmTec™ Fortilife™ reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) elements can help you:

  • Reduce water costs and lower operating expenses.
  • Achieve sustainability goals.
  • Minimize biofouling problems.
  • Move toward minimal liquid discharge (MLD).

Reduce cleanings, increase productivity, and decrease waste

FilmTec™ Fortilife™ offers a family of elements that can be customized to create a system that meets your unique water-recovery challenges.
FilmTec™ Fortilife™ CR100
FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC

Protect water systems against biofouling

FilmTec™ Fortilife™ CR100 RO elements protect water systems from the effects of sporadic spikes in water contamination and seasonal changes in water composition. With advanced antifouling technology, these elements, when part of a reverse osmosis water treatment system, help avoid lengthy clean-in-place (CIP) procedures that require extended and frequent shutdowns.

The CR100 element is engineered specifically for systems where biofouling is a problem. The element’s ultra-low differential pressure (400 ft2 ) spiral-wound RO module design provides improved hydraulic balance (more even distribution of flux across all the elements in the system) that results in:

  • Less frequent cleanings, by up to 50 percent (due to biofouling).*
  • Organic fouling resistance.
  • High membrane productivity and durability; its wide pH range (1 – 13) helps stand up to harsh cleaning chemicals.
  • Lower energy costs (reduced by as much as 10 percent in operations where biofouling is a problem).*
  • Excellent solute rejection; its high permeate quality enables blending with higher TDS waters for reuse.

Meet wastewater treatment challenges with minimal liquid discharge for reuse

FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC elements help meet the specific challenges of wastewater reuse and water recovery operations. The FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC family is comprised of three products, each with its own features and benefits to help meet your wastewater challenges. The FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC70 offers an approximate total dissolved solids (TDS) treatment range (ppm)** of 15,000 – 70,000+. Its benefits include:<

  • Allowing concentrate TDS to reach >70,000 ppm level, while operating within standard RO pressure limits.
  • Fouling resistance.
  • Longer element life in challenging operations, due to construction of industrialized materials.
  •  Less frequent cleaning and more uptime.

The FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC80 offers an approximate TDS treatment range (ppm)** of 15,000 – 80,000+. Its benefits include:

  • Allowing concentrate TDS to reach >80,000 ppm level, while operating within standard RO pressure limits.
  • Fouling resistance.
  • Reduced liquid discharge with standard RO system designs.
  • Longer element life in challenging operations, due to construction of industrialized materials.
  • Less frequent cleaning and more uptime.

FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC-N offers an approximate TDS Treatment Range (ppm)** of 0 – 80,000+. Its benefits include:

  • Highly selective membrane with high monovalent ion passage and high polyvalent ion and color retention.
  • High permeability at low pressures and high TDS levels for increased recovery.
  • Purified, high-concentration brine solution for reuse.
  • Less dissolved solid waste.
  • Low energy operation.
